Pre. Hajar Mousannif is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia - Cadi Ayyad University in Morocco and Lead Scientist at Katanemo, a tech startup based in Washington, USA, that focuses on building innovative solutions in Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). With over 18 years of experience in Computer Science, AI, and Data Science, Hajar brings both academic expertise and real-world knowledge to the table.

Throughout her career, she has led many research projects, publishing over 90 papers in the fields of Machine Learning and Data Science. Hajar also founded a Master’s program in AI and Data Science at Cadi Ayyad University, helping shape the next generation of talent. Her research has resulted in two AI-related patents, and she has been recognized as one of the top female researchers in North Africa and the MENA region.

Hajar’s achievements have earned her awards such as the L'Oréal-UNESCO Award and the Emerald Literati Prize for Excellence. In 2020, she was honored with the WomenTech Global AI Inclusion Award as a GOLD winner. Beyond academia, she’s a popular keynote and TEDx speaker, known for her insights on AI and Data Science, and actively engages with the community on LinkedIn.

Hajar is also involved in the TinyML Foundation, contributing to the future of embedded machine learning. In 2024, she chairs the TinyML EMEA Innovation Forum, a key event focused on driving innovation in the field.

Through her work, Hajar continues to build connections between academia, industry, and the public sector, inspiring collaboration and progress in AI.
