Position Description

The Dynamics of the Lithosphere and the Genesis of Resources Laboratory (DLGR Lab) of the Cadi Ayyad University, Faculty of Sciences-Semlalia invites applications for 12-months postdoc position in Igneous Petrology, Geochemistry and Metallogeny with a particular focus on "Strategic metals potential of Late-Hercynian granitoids and associated pegmatites of Central Morocco". We are especially targeting applicants with research interests in Petrology, Geochemistry, and Metallogeny.

The candidate will be involved in the APRD project "AlkaCarboLipsWac" "Proterozoic and Phanerozoic Alkaline Igneous Rocks and Carbonatites and associated LIPs of the West African Craton (Morocco, Mauritania, and Mali) and their potential for Nb, Ta, U, REE, Fe, phosphates and other ore deposit" leaded by Professor Nasrrddine Youbi (Cadi Ayyad University, Faculty of Sciences -Semlalia DLGR Lab). The supervisor of the Post-Doc position is Prof. Mohammed Bouabdellah from Faculty of Sciences of Oujda.

The Post-Dotoral Research project is managed by the UM6P (Mohammed VI Polytechnic University) of Benguerir and funded by the OCP Fondation (Office Chérifien des Phosphates), UM6P (Mohamed VI Polytechnic University of Benguerir), CNRST (National Center for Scientific and Technical Research), Rabat, and MESRSI (Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation).

The position is open to candidates holding a Ph.D. degree in Earth Sciences or a related field with a focus on Igneous Petrology, Geochemistry and Metallogeny.
