Press Release: University Final of the “MY THESIS IN 180 SECONDS” Competition – 2025 Edition
Cadi Ayyad University is pleased to organize the University Final of the Francophone International Competition, My Thesis in 180 Seconds (MT180) – 2025 Edition. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the University Conference Center.
This competition aims to:
• Bridge the gap between science and society;
• Recognize the intellectual rigor of emerging academic talent;
• Strengthen the communication skills of young researchers in both scientific and interpersonal contexts.
Aimed at popularizing and promoting scientific culture among the general public, the competition is open to doctoral candidates across all disciplines who are currently enrolled or have defended their theses during the current academic year.
Each selected candidate will have the opportunity to present their scientific work to a diverse, non-specialist audience. Participants are invited to deliver a clear, concise, and compelling three-minute presentation in French, supported by a single slide. The challenge lies in communicating complex research in simple, accessible terms.
At the conclusion of the university final, two candidates will be selected to represent Cadi Ayyad University at the national final, scheduled for June 2025. The winner of the national final will then qualify for the international final, which will be held on September 30, 2025, in Romania.
Out of approximately sixty PhD candidates from Cadi Ayyad University who expressed interest, twelve are preparing to compete for a place in the national final. Throughout the competition, these candidates will serve as ambassadors of dynamic and cutting-edge science.
To support them in this challenge, Cadi Ayyad University, in collaboration with the Doctoral Studies Center and expert trainers, has provided ongoing guidance and training. This intensive preparation has focused on personal development, scientific rigor, and research valorization, while enhancing the candidates’ ability to communicate with synthesis, eloquence, and passion for science.
