The ERANETMED program is an initiative supported by the 7th Framework Program for research and development, aimed at coordinating the research activities of the various national programs of EU member states, countries associated with the EU's framework research programs, and Mediterranean partner countries. Specifically, the goal of ERANETMED is to strengthen collaboration and the shared capacity of the research programs of the countries listed below to address some of the major challenges facing the Mediterranean and to enhance Euro-Mediterranean research cooperation.

• MediOpuntia: Introducing cactus plantations (Opuntia spp.) and smart water management systems in marginal lands of Egypt and Morocco to drive rural renaissance in the Mediterranean Region
• FRAME: Development of the frame conditions for the establishment of an innovative water technology which couples anaerobic waste water treatment and biomass production in a bioreactor in the mediterranean region

• IRRIGATIO: Assessing the chemical/microbiological contamination and productivity in the agricultural production chain of model fruit species grown under irrigation with different kinds of reclaimed wastewater
• STORENERGY: Sodium-ion batteries: An advanced solution for mobile and stationnary energy storage applications
