Founded by the Dutch anthropologist Bert Flint, the Dar Tiskiwin Museum is a renowned cultural institution in Marrakech, dedicated to preserving and showcasing the art and heritage of Saharan and Sub-Saharan communities.
Historique et Fondation
Born in the Netherlands in 1931, Bert Flint settled in Marrakech in 1957, where he developed a deep passion for Moroccan rural culture. Recognizing the solid and inseparable historical and cultural ties binding the Kingdom of Morocco and its Sahara, he assembled a collection of objects reflecting the ornamental art of these regions. In 2006, at the age of 75, he donated his private museum, Tiskiwin, to Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech.
Collections and Exhibitions
The museum displays the best of Bert Flint’s personal collection of different precious artefacts, highlighting the ornamental art of Saharan and Sub-Saharan communities. Visitors can explore a treasure trove reflecting the wealth and cultural and artistic diversity of these regions.
