International Conference: “Code-Switching: Diversity of Contexts and Perspectives"
The LCP-V Laboratory, accredited at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences in Marrakech, will host an international conference on April 13–14, 2026, under the theme “Code-Switching: Diversity of Contexts and Perspectives.”
Set against a backdrop of growing scholarly interest, this conference aims to foster in-depth academic dialogue on the phenomenon of code-switching, approached as an overarching concept encompassing the full spectrum of language contact situations. Over the years, code-switching has evolved into a well-established field of inquiry, engaging a range of linguistic subdisciplines—including morphosyntax, phonology/phonetics, and semantics—while also extending into related domains such as psychology, sociology, communication studies, and language didactics.
In this context, the conference seeks to critically reassess the relevance and robustness of existing theoretical paradigms through the analysis of newly developed linguistic corpora, while simultaneously opening avenues for the development of innovative theoretical perspectives where current explanatory models prove insufficient.
